KOTA is seeking students currently enrolled in an Occupational Therapy or Occupational Therapy Assistant Program to volunteer for KOTA Conference.

  1 Day 
(includes lunch)

(includes lunch both days) 
Student Volunteers

4 hours of volunteer work
4 Hours of same day conference attendance

8 hours of volunteer work
8 Hours of conference attendance
Student Attending Conference   $15 (Register HERE) $30 (Register HERE)

 

ALL Volunteers will:

  • Wear profession business casual clothing
  • Wear a volunteer name tag while on shift
  • Smile and greet conference attendees 
  • Assist conference attendees with questions
  • Orient conference attendees to building (restrooms, session/poster rooms, lunch area)

 

Specific Job Descriptions 

Merchandise Sales

  • Assures items are accurately priced 
  • Assists conference attendees with locating T-shirt sizes and other merchandise
  • Collect cash payments, make change, records receipts
  • Assists with running credit card payments & collecting information from conference attendees

Room Monitor

  • Assists the speakers with room set up/clean up 
  • Introduces speakers' names and reads biography to conference attendees
  • Stamps CEU record sheets for conference attendees at conclusion of the session

Vendor Assistant

  • Identifies the needs of the vendor (outlets, etc) 
  • Familiar with the vendor map to direct vendors to correct table 
  • Assists with set up of table, if needed 
  • Informs vendors of location of restrooms and other important event information
  • Check in with vendors hourly to offer assistance 

Auction Assistant

  • Moving items donated to auction to the aution room and organizing items
  • Complete paperwork as needed to assign the value of item and the person who donated item
  • Assists the auctioneer with job duties including but not limited to: locating auction items, providing auctioneer with water, etc
  • Recording the final selling price of items and the name of the buyer
  • Organizing sold aution items by buyer (so that all their items are together) 
  • Calculate the grand total for each buyer at the end of the auction 
  • Assisting the cashier with collecting cash and cards payments 

Lunch Assistant

  • Set up lunch area as instructed by supervisor 
  • Follow santiary proceedures throughout shift 
  • Serve lunch to conference attendees
  • Take out trash as needed
  • Clean up and sanaitize lunch area
